The Great American Eclipse
Join NASA Solar System Ambassador Bharath Muthyala for a discussion of the upcoming total solar eclipse. On Monday, August 21, 2017, all of North America will be treated to an eclipse of the sun. Anyone within the path of totality can see one of nature’s most awe inspiring sights - a total solar eclipse. This visible path, where the moon will completely cover the sun and the sun's tenuous atmosphere will stretch from Salem, OR to Charleston, SC. Observers outside this path will still see a partial solar eclipse where the moon covers part of the sun's disk. There are around 12 million people on the totality path and about 127 million people who are in 300 miles from totality path who can easily watch this eclipse with 2 or 3 hour drive. This eclipse will become the most viewed eclipse ever in history. culturalfusion1 JPL50 Summer1

Summer1 JPL50 Culturalfusion1
