JPL- Friday Musicale presents Le Chevalier de Saint-Georges

Description:
 A concert for the whole family featuring musical works by Afro-French composer JOSEPH BOLOGNE, LE CHEVALIER DE SAINT-GEORGES, the leading French composer and swordsman of his day, known as "The Black Mozart"!

Presented by



Violinist Tyrone Tidwell will narrate the life of Saint-Georges interspersed with several works by the 18th century composer and closing with the Chevalier's Symphony Concertante in E-flat for two violins and orchestra.

Additional musicians on the program will include Timothy Edwards, Max Huls, Swantje Biernacki, Angelo Goderre, Larry Rawdon, Jamar Woods, and soprano Gabrielle Williams.

The narration was prepared by JU Professor Emeritus of Humanities, Dr. Sharon Scholl.

Friday Musicale will also present its newly-published picture-book biography of Le Chevalier de Saint-Georges! Free copies will be distributed to children in the audience!
